curriculum vitae
Completing military service and professional training Dirk Hachmeister studied from 1985 to 1990 economics at the University of Hannover. From January 1991 to March 1992 he was a researcher at the Institute for Business Taxation and Auditing of the University of Hannover. From April 1992 to September 2000 he was a researcher and assistant professor at the Department of Accounting and Auditing of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Doctorate in economics publ. in July 1994. Habilitation in February 2000. From October 2000 to March 2003 he was - first as a representative - Professor of Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Auditing at the University of Leipzig.
Since April 2003 he holds the chair of Accounting and Finance at the University of Hohenheim. From April 2010 to November 2017 he also held the position of the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences.
His research focuses on corporate valuation and financial statement presentation.
Professor Dr. Hachmeister is co-editor of the IRZ (Journal of International Accounting).
